tack cloths are used to get rid of bits of crap prior to painting. I noticed they didnt use laquer on top. thats only ok if your paintwork is as dull as gordon brown! iv found that several light coats of laquer works a treat. I sprayed a whole bodykit with cans and it worked like a charm.
not the way to go man use a welder to fix the holes and tack cloths is get the trash out of the primer and paint. yeah clear is applied the same way as paint but i think this guy was using single stage paing no clear need it hope this helps
They did not appear to treat the rust on the inside of the holes or wing with kurust or similar. The slightest trace of rust will cause the repair to fail within months.

can you use fiberglass to merely patch up cracks and holes which do not go all the way through the object which has rusted?

YOU SIRS! are life savers, but I do have a question. Clear coating is that applied in the same fashion as the paint? what about Tack cloths?
